It’s all about the kids; at least it should be because they are our future. Agree? With that in mind, how’s this for results: • The State of Florida ranks the energy cost of their schools in all 67 counties and publically displays the rankings on the web. With “their” efforts “they” took the energy cost of their schools 60th out of 67 counties to 18th in the state. • Teachers’ salaries come out of the same fund as energy cost and “they” saved enough money to hire an additional 70 teachers. The additional teachers helped to significantly reduce the class size which improved the learning effectiveness for the kids. • “They” found ways to do this while lowering installed cost compared to traditional systems and did it in a way that helped the electric utility manage peak kW demand.
