    Con Edison is excited to share that our Demand Management Program (DMP) is expanding its financial incentive budget in order to lower our peak summer load during hot weekday afternoons over the next two years. The program budget will grow from $24 million in 2018 to $32 million in 2019.

  • Southern California Edison announces location change in solicitation expected to launch in late 2017

    On May 11, 2017, SCE announced its intention to launch a solicitation in the fourth quarter of 2017 pursuant to California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”) Decision (“D.”) 16-12-036. In that notification, SCE identified three distribution network upgrade projects where it was likely to seek Distributed Energy Resources (“DERs”) to displace or defer the need for capital expenditures for traditional distribution infrastructure upgrades: Bassett, Farrell and Newbury. At this time SCE is removing the Bassett project from consideration, consistent with Advice 3620-E-A filed on July 28, 2017

SCE will be seeking the CPUC’s approval to launch this solicitation in an advice letter filing expected to be made in June 2017.

    According to the State of Charge study published in September 2016, which analyzes the potential benefits of incorporating energy storage technologies into Massachusetts’ energy portfolio, industry stakeholders suggested that developing energy storage safety codes, standards, and regulations (CSRs) is an industry priority to ensure a robust market and to facilitate smooth deployment of energy storage. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) therefore is exploring training and educational opportunities for first responders and AHJs, and working to support the development of and adoption of relevant CSRs by local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
