    In accordance with the requirements of New York Public Service Law (“PSL”) Section 27, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid (“National Grid”) hereby submits for filing in Case 14-M-0101 the Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for Non-Wires Alternative (“NWA”) Solutions for an area of electrical stress in Old Forge, New York area to be issued by April 19, 2017. With this RFP National Grid is soliciting proposals for NWA solutions defined as Phase II – NWA Solutions Solicitation within the attached RFP Scope of Work document.

    The University of Washington (UW) Department of Electrical Engineering seeks to install a Li-Ion battery electrical energy storage system (BESS) for the purposes of demonstrating and developing advanced BESS control algorithms that support electric grid operations and campus energy efficiency. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from potential suppliers on the hardware and software characteristics of commercially available BESS. This BESS should be based on well-proven, safe battery and energy conversion technologies that can be installed within an existing building.

    The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and Department of Energy Resources (DOER) released yesterday their $10m ACES (Advancing Commonwealth Energy Storage) funding opportunity. Completed applications are due on June 9, 2017. Applicants must provide at least 50% of the total project budget, and all projects selected must be commissioned, interconnected, and operational within 18 months of contracting.

  • SoCal Edison seeks distributed resources to enhance local grid reliability

    Dive Brief: Southern California Edison this week issued a request for offers, seeking a variety of renewable and distributed energy resources to increase reliability in an at-risk portion of the grid. The utility is seeking between 15 MW and 55 MW of resources, including energy storage, demand response, permanent load shift, combined heat and power, fuel cells, solar PV paired with energy storage and renewable distributed generation. SCE is seeking to prevent blackouts related to a "transmission-related contingency" in the the Santa Barbara area. Eligible resources must be connected to a circuit, load or lower-level substation served by the Goleta 220/66-kilovolt substation.

    CPS Energy invites the submission of proposals from experienced companies to engineer, design, procure, install, test and commission an approximately 5 MW AC utility-scale solar PV facility and a 10 MW / 10 MWh battery energy storage system to be co-located within CPS Energy’s service territory.
