  • Southern California Edison announces location change in solicitation expected to launch in late 2017

    On May 11, 2017, SCE announced its intention to launch a solicitation in the fourth quarter of 2017 pursuant to California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”) Decision (“D.”) 16-12-036. In that notification, SCE identified three distribution network upgrade projects where it was likely to seek Distributed Energy Resources (“DERs”) to displace or defer the need for capital expenditures for traditional distribution infrastructure upgrades: Bassett, Farrell and Newbury. At this time SCE is removing the Bassett project from consideration, consistent with Advice 3620-E-A filed on July 28, 2017

  • Demand Management Program 2018 Auction B

    ConEdison is pleased to share the updated 2018 Demand Management Program rules. As previously communicated, the focus of the program is to lower peak load from 2-6 pm on days when a CSRP or ICAP-SCR demand response event is in effect through financial incentives for demand management projects at large customer locations.

    Southern California Edison (“SCE”) is pleased to announce its intention to launch a solicitation Q4 2017 pursuant to California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”) Decision (“D.”) 16-12-036. SCE will be seeking the CPUC’s approval to launch this solicitation in an advice letter filing expected to be made in June 2017.

  • Engineering Design RFP for Energy Storage Safety Training System

    According to the State of Charge study published in September 2016, which analyzes the potential benefits of incorporating energy storage technologies into Massachusetts’ energy portfolio, industry stakeholders suggested that developing energy storage safety codes, standards, and regulations (CSRs) is an industry priority to ensure a robust market and to facilitate smooth deployment of energy storage. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) therefore is exploring training and educational opportunities for first responders and AHJs, and working to support the development of and adoption of relevant CSRs by local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

    In accordance with the requirements of New York Public Service Law (“PSL”) Section 27, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid (“National Grid”) hereby submits for filing in Case 14-M-0101 the Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for Non-Wires Alternative (“NWA”) Solutions for an area of electrical stress in Old Forge, New York area to be issued by April 19, 2017. With this RFP National Grid is soliciting proposals for NWA solutions defined as Phase II – NWA Solutions Solicitation within the attached RFP Scope of Work document.

    The University of Washington (UW) Department of Electrical Engineering seeks to install a Li-Ion battery electrical energy storage system (BESS) for the purposes of demonstrating and developing advanced BESS control algorithms that support electric grid operations and campus energy efficiency. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from potential suppliers on the hardware and software characteristics of commercially available BESS. This BESS should be based on well-proven, safe battery and energy conversion technologies that can be installed within an existing building.
