ESA Webinar: The Clean Peak Standard: Coming Soon to a Docket Near You?
On July 31, the Massachusetts State House passed an energy omnibus bill that included the first-in-the-nation CPS program. Meanwhile, Commissioner Tobin in Arizona proposed draft CPS regulations on July 5 that are currently being reviewed by the Arizona Corporation Commission. In both states, several outstanding questions remain about the implementation of the CPS that could impact the overall efficacy of the program. In particular, the methodology for calculating the baseline and treatment of energy storage systems could determine not only how big of an opportunity these programs provide for energy storage, but also the overall greenhouse gas impact of the program.
This webinar will compare and contrast the Massachusetts and Arizona CPS program design, and will also outline next steps for program implementation.
