CEO’s Statement on Massachusetts Governor’s “Clean Peak Standard” Legislation

“In proposing a clean peak standard, Governor Baker once again demonstrated leadership and innovative thinking on how to make the electric system more resilient and sustainable. Such a program could potentially spur new energy storage deployments that work to ensure clean energy meets the peak demands of the grid. With the announcement of the proposed legislation, the Baker-Polito Administration began an important new conversation in the Commonwealth,” stated Kelly Speakes-Backman, CEO of ESA. “We look forward to Governor Baker’s keynote address at ESA’s Annual Conference on April 18 - 20 in Boston for more on this and other initiatives where Massachusetts looks to lead on energy storage and clean energy policy.”
