#ESACon17 Comes to Denver, CO April 18-20, with Unparalleled Education and the Industry’s Largest Dedicated Expo
Washington, D.C. (February 22, 2017) – The Energy Storage Association (ESA) is pleased to announce that Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper will open our 27th Annual Conference and Expo as a keynote speaker, welcoming more than 2,000 global attendees from across the energy and utility industries to the largest conference and expo dedicated to advancing grid energy storage.
ESA’s 2017 Annual Conference (#ESACon17) exemplifies the precipitous growth of energy storage, and for three days Denver will be the epicenter of the advanced energy industry. It’s where market and policy leaders will engage with innovative companies and global decision makers to shape the trajectory of energy storage. Last year, our conference was the launch point for the White House Summit on energy storage and held the first ever multi-country reverse trade mission with the US Trade and Development Agency – and our 2017 event has been designed from the ground up to deliver more value to attendees than ever before.
#ESACon17 is the only conference and trade show that directly supports the mission of the energy storage industry, and is recognized as the premiere event for utilities, manufacturers, developers, building owners, dealmakers, and government entities that are engaging in the rapid growth of energy storage. The annual conference has continued to grow more than 60% year over year, and 2017 is already on pace to be another record setting event.
This year will again deliver the largest exhibition hall in energy storage - connecting companies and customers in more than 90,000 square feet in the Global Energy Storage Expo, and more than 100 exhibitors and event sponsors.
We are also excited to announce our lineup of confirmed keynote speakers and updated agenda for this year’s conference, including such energy industry leaders as:
- Welcome Address from Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper
- Ivor Catto, Chief Executive Officer of RES Group
- Michael O’Sullivan, Senior Vice President of Development for NextEra Energy Resources
- Former Governor Bill Ritter, Jr., Founder and Director of the Center for the New Energy Economy
- Dr. Martin Keller, Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
In total, the conference features more than 35 educational keynote and breakout session, with 125 expert speakers and industry executives in 6 unique educational tracks. In addition, the conference program includes three storage project site tours and 6 interactive workshops to provide real world, hands-on experience to participants. Core topics for this year’s conference include: Technology Advancement and Innovation; Financing the Storage Revolution; Enabling the 21st Century Grid; Policy and Markets for Storage; Storage + X: Combining Value; and Global Storage Markets.
“Denver is an ideal destination for our 2017 conference – with a robust advanced energy ecosystem throughout Colorado and many innovative energy storage projects already deployed in an all-around world class city,” said Matt Roberts, Executive Director of the Energy Storage Association. “We are thrilled to be hosting the global energy industry this April to take the next steps in driving the transformation of our power sector and laying the foundations for the continued growth of energy storage.”
