Hawaiian Electric Company Request for Proposal (RFP# 072114-01) for 60 to 200 MW of Energy Storage for Oahu

To meet its goal of adding more renewable generation to the O‘ahu grid, Hawaiian Electric Company is seeking proposals for one or more large-scale energy storage systems able to store 60 to 200 megawatts for up to 30 minutes. Potential bidders will be asked for proposals that include engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, start-up and performance verification. The deadline for proposals is July 21, 2014 with the goal of having the energy storage system(s) in service in the first quarter of 2017.
Notes pertaining to this RFP

RFP due date is no later than Monday, July 21 2014, 10:00 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time (HST).

Intent to Submit Bid Form, Intent to attend Pre-Bid meeting (# of people attending) are due no later than Friday, May 16 2014, 10:00 a.m. HST.

Questions regarding the RFP shall be submitted in writing by email no later than Monday, June 30 2014.

Bidders shall submit seven (7) hard copies of the Proposal documents. An electronic proposal is requested in a .PDF format, in addition hardcopies must follow to the below address.
