ACTION: Issue a Request for Information (RFI) seeking industry participation in an Energy Storage Solutions Industry Day meeting to be held in San Diego, CA to foster the exchange of information between DON and industry regarding Energy Storage Solutions. This exchange of information will allow for the continued research, review, development, and implementation of shore based energy storage devices and systems.

SUMMARY: Companies are invited to attend a one-day Energy Storage Solutions Industry Day meeting to be held in San Diego, CA on September 14, 2015 at the Admiral Baker Clubhouse, from 09:00a.m. PDT to 5:00p.m. PDT. The meeting will provide an opportunity for Energy Storage System developers, users, and suppliers to discuss Energy Storage technologies, criteria concerning the topic, and potential methods of shore based energy storage.

The RFI and Industry Day meeting will facilitate Department of Navy (DoN) market research for continued development of Unified Facilities Criteria and Unified Facilities Guide Specification documents governing Energy Storage Solutions.

Registration is required as space is limited. Food and beverages will not be provided. Rules governing the venue will apply to all attendees.

NAVFAC HQ would like to hear from industry regarding these topics. The Navy is interested in applying new technologies, implementing new energy storage solutions, and is looking for new innovations with affordable solutions. Interested parties are encouraged to provide a 20 minute presentation related to the topic. Presentations should be categorized into one of the following three technology types: mechanical, electro-chemical, and fuels based. An electronic copy of all presentations must be sent to by 5:00p.m. EDT on September 07, 2015. Presentation files must be MS Power Point, compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, and no larger than 8 MB; larger file sizes may not be received.  Late presentation submissions may not be accepted.

An agenda will be developed in concert with the registration process and will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the meeting in addition to being posted on FEDBIZOPS.


All information submitted in response to the RFI will be considered proprietary and for official government use only. Interested parties are encouraged to mark their submissions accordingly. The maximum length of responses for the RFI is five (5) pages; additionally, companies may include appendixes that cover such supporting information as technology descriptions, photographs, drawings, test results and summaries of future plans.
