Tucson Electric Power Launches its 2017 EPC RFP Website

Tucson Electric Power Company ("TEP") is pleased to announce that it has launched its 2017 Engineering, Design and Construction Services Request for Proposals ("RFP") for balance of plant relating to the engineering, design and construction of Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine ("RICE") generators at the H. Wilson Sundt Generating Station in Tucson, Arizona. Information and documents regarding the RFP can be found on the RFP website at https://tepepc2017.accionpower.com.
TEP intends to procure 200 MW (nominal) of RICE generators directly from the manufacturer under a separate RFP, with the balance of plant including foundations, buildings, certain auxiliary equipment, etc. to be provided by the successful Bidder to this RFP.

RFP Release – Friday, July 14, 2017.
Mandatory Site Visit – Friday, July 21st, 2017 @ 0700 (MST).
Attendance to the Site Visit is required for bidding in this RFP. Registration for the site visit can be found when logged into the RFP website. Pre-registration is required using the form found on the RFP website. 
Directions to the TEP site will be provided a week before the event to those who register for the site visit. Registration for attending the mandatory site visit will close on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at 1:00 PM MST.
Bidder Conference Webinar - Wednesday July 21st, 2017 @ 0900 (MST).
Registration for the webinar is found when logged into the RFP website. Registration is required in order to receive call-in and webinar access information.
Alternative Technology Submissions Due – August 1, 2017.
TEP has identified the 20 MW (nominal) RICE units to be most compatible for the TEP system. Bidders may suggest a different RICE or technology, provided identification of the alternative technology is presented for review to TEP and the IM no later than this date.  Bidders may submit alternative technology proposals from the "Alternative Technology" section shown when logged into the RFP website. The Bidder will be informed by August 8, 2017 whether the proposed technology will be accepted as part of a bid.
Proposal Period Opens and Bid Form Available – September 1, 2017.
Proposal Submittal Deadline – October 2, 2017, @ noon (MST).
