Technical Advisory Council

ESA’s mission is to accelerate the widespread use of competitive and reliable energy storage systems in North America. To achieve this mission, ESA will educate stakeholders, advocate for public policies, accelerate market growth, and deliver direct member value.

In furtherance of this mission, ESA's research program includes a number of initiatives, including building out a storagePLUS network, creating a library of introductory information through our Storage 101 program, and a range of other resources that track the industry, technology, and policy/regulatory affairs.

ESA’s research program is supported by a Technical Advisory Council, or TAC, made up of industry experts from leading member companies, organizations, and research firms.

Energy storage systems introduce increased flexibility into the electric grid. Storage enables other technologies, creates new and broader opportunities for a cleaner supply mix, and increases the effectiveness of other energy resources. Our storagePLUS network examines how energy storage can improve extant energy resources.

Storage 101

Storage 101 serves as an introduction to the energy storage industry. Throughout 2019, Storage 101 will highlight the various ways energy storage can provide services and add value to the energy system. Information is targeted toward audiences familiar with the industry generally, but not directly involved in the storage sector.
