ESA & Allied Organizations Advocate Greater Federal Innovation Investments in Energy Storage
Today, ESA and allied organizations sent a letter to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees’ Energy & Water Development Subcommittees seeking significant increases to federal investments in energy storage technology development and demonstration.
The letter, which was co-signed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Energy Institute, National Resource Defense Council, Union of Concerned Scientists, and Information Technology & Innovation Foundation, requests a 50% increase for Department of Energy FY21 investments in energy storage across a variety of technologies.
Additionally, the letter supports fully funding the proposed Grid Storage Launchpad facility at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, which will accelerate commercialization of energy storage technologies.
