Energy storage is poised to facilitate a better world through a more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and affordable electricity grid, which will be achieved in part by realizing the industry’s vision of 35 gigawatts of new storage resources by 2025. On the path toward making this vision a reality, we all stand to benefit through direct job increases, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, operational savings, and reduced outage-related costs. But on the way there, let’s pause and take stock of the distribution of these benefits, and work toward ensuring that energy storage is serving as a catalyst for modernizing the grid in all communities.
